Before and after permanent hair removal: how to best prepare

August 1, 2023

If you are considering permanent hair removal on one or more areas of your body, you have probably been doing some research.

In this article, we will tell you a few things to bear in mind before starting permanent hair removal treatments.

Permanent hair removal: before and after treatment

You are probably wondering:

  • which permanent hair removal method to choose;
  • what kind of technology offers the best results;
  • how many sessions are needed to achieve permanent results;
  • if permanent hair removal treatments hurt;
  • what hair removal methods can be used between sessions;
  • how long you need to wait before exposing your skin to the summer sun.

Still looking for answers? We will take it from here.

There are various permanent hair removal methods on the market, but we believe that laser hair removal is preferable to electroepilation with a needle.

Our (admittedly biased) opinion is backed up by facts, and a hair removal technique that allows us to guarantee definitive results within 24 months. The best available permanent hair removal technology, used exclusively in our centres, consists of a square pulse and a double filter. The machine’s unique features allow it to target and hit the melanin in the hair at a constant temperature of 70 °C throughout the duration of the pulse until it eliminates the germinative cells, thereby preventing any new hairs from growing.

Instead of a set number of sessions, we offer a personalised service: our practitioners analyse each customer’s needs and ask them questions (which we also discuss here) before proceeding with the treatments.

And if you have heard that permanent hair removal hurts, come and try out our service: most people find it extremely bearable. It has been compared to the sting of a rubber band, which is what our practitioners use to help customers understand what to expect during treatment.

Between one session and the next, especially after the first, it is normal for hair to grow in: don’t worry, you don’t need to leave it until the next session. You can still use a razor, but remember that shaving the only hair removal technique allowed between treatments.

And if you think you are too late to start the permanent hair removal process, because summer is already here and you don’t want to stay out of the sun, book a free consultation: our specialised practitioners will explain our protocol for treating your skin safely even during the summer months. They are well equipped to determine the right time for the sessions.

Permanent hair removal: before

Two to three days before the appointment, shave the hair (only use a razor, avoiding any other hair removal methods).

Just before the session, remove any substances that may interfere with the treatment (such as makeup).

Permanent hair removal: after

Use dermatologically tested moisturising creams in the hours immediately following the treatment!
